The wellbeing of nature and the animals is our number one priority. By taking care of these, we are able to offer travelers authentic and ethical experiences in the Pure Lapland ambiance.
It is of paramount importance to us to take good care of our purebred Siberian Huskies, whose well-being and natural needs have been given special attention. This can be seen, for example, in the layout of the shelters, as well as in the diet of dogs.
Huskies are born to run, and there is nothing more pleasant for them than pulling a sled with friends. The dogs are picked up one by one from the shelters and harnessed to their own place in front of the sled. There are enough rest days even during the busy winter season. Our dogs are primarily co-workers, living beings that we value, and not money-making tools or farm animals.
We aim to support psychological well-being by ensuring that dogs get enough exercise and activities even during quieter periods and are able to take care of social relationships with both people and other dogs. The dogs’ own, safe, and stress-free herd and clean-living environment also support the dogs’ well-being.
We strive to maintain the local culture and prefer local handicrafts, ingredients, and local food in our choices. Our employees and trainees are mainly locals and we have been awarded the Key Flag Symbol in spring 2023. The Key Flag Symbol in connection with the service indicates that the service employs people in Finland and that our company is domestically owned. We employ both year-round and seasonal workers. This ensures that dogs always have familiar people around them who know each dog and can read their gestures and facial expressions.
We consider the diversity of nature and the environment in all our activities and strive to protect it as best we can. We strive to reduce the amount of waste and sort and recycle waste.
We are committed to preventing and reducing the environmental impact of our operations and work actively to promote sustainable development by continuously developing our operations and setting new goals every year.
Towards every customer we commit on planting a tree to compensate the carbon footprint. We aim on becoming a company providing genuine and safe experiences, assured by our professional, skilled guides.
